LSI Staffing Pasadena has immediate Fitter and Welder positions, at our client in Northeast Houston TX. This is a night shift!!!! 9pm temp to hire.
PAY DOE $23 to $24 per hour Must have experience and a resume to be considered!!!

PRIMARY FUNCTION

To burn, fit and weld various steel, aluminum, bronze, stainless parts in fabricating grating for diversified products and structures in accordance to specifications and tolerances.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT

Welding and burning equipment, including Tig/Mig and Stick Welder, appropriate material handling equipment, holding fixtures and clamps, various marking and measuring devices, shop drawings, safety equipment, drills, hole saws, wrenches, rule, square, gauges, templates, etc.

MATERIALS

Various steel grating, banding, toe plate, angle nosing, structural shapes, lugs, deck span, etc.

DIRECTION EXERCISED

Works alone or directs other workers as required.

WORKING PROCEDURE

Moves parts to be worked manually or with appropriate material handling equipment to conveyor or fixture, positions template, measures and marks for location of parts and/or cutouts to be burned, fitted or welded. Makes jigs or other fixtures devices when required.

Using proper torch tips, burns material to layout markings and disposes of scrap when necessary.

Positions, bands, toe plate, nosings, lugs, etc. manually or with clamping devices to fit and tack or weld to grating as specified. Use care in blocking, clamping material to avoid distortion.

Performs welding in accordance with accepted codes and/or specifications as applicable.

Maintains minimum standards of production in position while providing acceptable quality.

Performs minor maintenance on machine and reports any malfunction of equipment to supervisor.

Performs other miscellaneous related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Keeps working area in neat and orderly condition.

Makes daily time production and material usage report.

Required to adhere to all safety rules and regulations and participate in safety efforts.

Performs job functions using safe work practices.
