Elementary Associate

Reports To:  Kids Pastor


Objective: Connect, equip and empower people to bring the reality of God to their world. Help shape and implement a ministry strategy for Elementary Ministry (K-5th) to fulfil our vision of inspiring kids to fearlessly live and love like Jesus.
Lead the overall COF Younger Elementary Ministry: Kinder- 2nd kids, Volunteers and Families.


Responsibilities:


Weekend Leadership 

  • Build a strong and thriving volunteer team to serve the Elementary ministry to follow strong safety procedures (ie. 2-adult-rule in each space).
  • Provide ongoing care and leadership for COF Kids volunteers serving on the Elementary Ministry Team, specifically by developing coaches / directors to lead ministry in your absence. 
  • Develop fun, engaging, irresistible Large Group team to find excellence week in and week out, using Orange Curriculum.
  • Seek opportunities to connect with kids outside of Sunday morning opportunities
  • Provide pastoral care and training for new volunteers and existing volunteers.
  • Manage all volunteer scheduling for weekend services, events, and other facility needs. 

Weekday Leadership

  • Ensure all curriculum, resources, and supplies are available for weekend services, events, and facilities.
  • Manage all workflows to onboard new volunteers, connect with new families, restock COFkids store, etc.
  • Aid in scheduling, registration, and Check-Ins, and give leadership to the Elementary Team for weekend services, special events (baptism, Wednesday nights, Camps), and other facility needs.


Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in ministry, education, or relevant field, or equivalent experience
  • Several years of experience in full-time kids’ ministry/leadership
  • Experience in administration, coordination, and event planning
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strength in relationship building
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work independently
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Details:

  • Workdays and hours are Monday – Thursday, 9:00am to 4:00pm and Sunday 8:00am to 1:00pm. Participation in other events when childcare is required.
