CNC Programmer
Responsibility to function as a CNC Programmer: Ensure full compliance with the employee handbook, all IATF 16949 requirements, PPE policies and 5s principles. Develop and maintain a complete understanding of all production-related jobs, production requirements, standard work, and other tasks which may be instructed to perform by your supervisor. Support a positive, collaborative team environment by prioritizing team success over individual interests and helping build morale, commitment, and alignment toward shared goals and objectives.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL ELEMNETS OF THE JOB
Safety
- Consistently demonstrates and incorporates principles of safety for self and others in daily activities
- Ensures the use of safe procedures and adherence to standard work
- Ensure all equipment and machinery is operational and in good working order
Daily Routine
- Provides technical expertise and supports CNC operators during job setup.
- Review technical specifications, quality requirements and defining process plans for machined parts
- Perform CNC programming tasks as well as sets up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machinery using a variety of controller software.
- Assists with training and mentoring CNC operators.
- Ability to setup and operate 3 axis CNC machines, CNC Machinist Tasks.
- Program 2D and 3D molds and fixtures for injection and blow molding processes.
- Follow up on all machining tasks to ensure quality is maintained by the operators.
- Provide material and tool lists, dimensioned prints, and setup sheets.
- Knowledge of machine controls, program codes, fixtures and tool offsets, and CNC systems.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Responsible for completing all work assignments on a timely basis.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with manager, tool room and other departmental personnel in a team environment.
- Follow all department and company-wide safety policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of how to machine different materials. EG plastics, Alum, and Steel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, and procedure manual
- Proficiency in NX CAD software or equivalent 3D CAD modeling software is an asset
- 1 to 5 years experienced in designing blow molds and secondary equipment.
- Familiarity with using Microsoft suite of tools Power Point and Excel
- Experience programming/Running CNC Machines/ Knowledge of CNC Fixturing and Workholding setup.
- General Knowledge on Machine Tool equipment and Process.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and work efficiently in a very demanding, fast paced work environment
- Ability to work and contribute to a team orientated environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to question
Physical Requirement
- Must be able to physically perform the basic life operation functions.
- Requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Must possess the visual alertness to operate equipment and motor vehicles, perform trades, tasks, inspect the work of others, and review work for accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness.
