Position Overview
As an Engineering Project Manager - ISP, you will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) engineering activities supporting data center, telecommunications, and fiber infrastructure projects. You will serve as the primary liaison between engineering, construction, customers, utility providers, and project stakeholders to ensure technical requirements are successfully translated into constructible and scalable solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of telecommunications infrastructure, fiber optic networks, structured cabling systems, and technical project delivery. Success requires exceptional communication skills, engineering judgment, and the ability to manage complex technical scopes from concept through execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead ISP engineering coordination efforts for data center, telecommunications, and fiber infrastructure projects.
- Manage technical deliverables, engineering reviews, and design coordination between customers, consultants, vendors, and construction teams.
- Review telecommunications drawings, fiber route plans, structured cabling designs, splice diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Support proposal development, scope definition, budgeting, and constructability reviews during project planning and preconstruction efforts.
- Identify technical risks, design conflicts, and project challenges while developing practical and cost-effective solutions.
- Coordinate engineering deliverables to support procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities.
What You'll Do
- Manage ISP engineering activities supporting hyperscale data centers, telecommunications, and mission-critical infrastructure developments.
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, network operations, commissioning, and project controls teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead technical reviews of fiber optic, structured cabling, pathway, connectivity, and telecommunications infrastructure designs.
- Support project planning, phasing, scheduling, and execution strategies while ensuring technical requirements are met.
- Monitor project progress, engineering deliverables, and stakeholder commitments to support successful project outcomes.
- Serve as a trusted technical resource for customers, engineering partners, construction teams, and leadership throughout project delivery.

What It Takes
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field and 5+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing ISP engineering scopes supporting telecommunications, fiber optic, broadband, data center, or mission-critical infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of fiber optic networks, structured cabling systems, telecommunications infrastructure, and ISP design standards.
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings, fiber route plans, splice diagrams, rack layouts, pathway designs, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of carrier, utility, and telecommunications engineering practices, permitting requirements, and network deployment methodologies.
- Experience supporting design reviews, constructability evaluations, procurement planning, and technical issue resolution.
- Familiarity with CAD platforms, GIS systems, Bluebeam, and telecommunications design tools.
- Experience with Procore or similar project and construction management software preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE), RCDD, telecommunications engineering, or data center infrastructure experience preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholder groups.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel up to 50% and support onsite project assignments as required.
