Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Expediting Execution
- Expedite purchase orders from issuance through delivery, ensuring alignment with project schedule milestones
- Track and report status of materials, equipment, and critical long-lead items (LLIs)
- Proactively engage vendors to confirm fabrication progress, identify risks, and implement recovery plans
- Ensure supplier compliance with contractual delivery dates and documentation requirements
Vendor & Supply Chain Coordination
- Act as primary interface between vendors, procurement, engineering, and construction teams
- Conduct regular vendor follow-ups (calls, emails, site visits as required) to verify production status
- Review vendor schedules, fabrication plans, and progress reports for accuracy and feasibility
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and release for shipment
Data Center / Critical Equipment Focus
- Expedite mission-critical equipment such as:
- Switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, generators
- Mechanical equipment (chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, cooling systems)
- Modular/skidded systems and prefabricated assemblies
- Understand sequencing and interdependencies of equipment required for commissioning and energization
Schedule & Risk Management
- Maintain expediting logs and dashboards for all active purchase orders
- Identify potential delays early and escalate risks with mitigation strategies
- Support project controls and scheduling teams with accurate delivery forecasts
- Align material delivery with construction sequencing and site readiness
Documentation & Reporting
- Track vendor submittals, drawings, and documentation required for engineering and construction
- Ensure timely submission and approval of vendor data to avoid downstream delays
- Provide weekly expediting reports highlighting status, risks, and recovery actions
- Maintain accurate records in procurement and project management systems
Qualifications
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, expediting, or supply chain roles within:
- Data center construction
- Industrial EPC projects
- Experience with long-lead equipment and critical path supply chain management
- Field or fabrication shop experience is a strong plus
Technical Knowledge
- Understanding of project lifecycle (ex EPC = engineering → procurement → construction → commissioning)
- Familiarity with fabrication processes, vendor manufacturing timelines, and logistics
- Ability to read and interpret schedules, purchase orders, and basic technical documentation
Skills
- Strong communication and vendor management skills
- Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
- Proactive problem solver with a strong sense of urgency and accountability
- Proficient in Procore, Excel and other project tracking tools (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or similar systems)
