Our company values guide all that we do… Open to Change | Passion | Get ‘r Done| Respect | Responsible & Accountable | Accept the Challenge Job Summary: We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Lathe Operator to join our precision plastics manufacturing team. This role focuses on running manual lathe machines to produce a variety of custom plastic components in a high-mix, low-volume environment. Advancement possibilities include setup & running of CNC lathes. The ideal candidate is quality-conscious, follows instructions well, and can consistently operate equipment with minimal supervision. Essential Functions: • Operate lathe machines to produce plastic parts according to provided instructions and specifications. • Load raw material into machines and safely unload finished parts. • Monitor machine operation during production to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions. • Perform basic part inspections using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. • Follow written and verbal instructions including job travelers, inspection plans, and part drawings. • Accurately record production quantities and quality checks. • Maintain clean work area and follow all safety procedures and company policies. • Communicate effectively with setup personnel, leads, or supervisors regarding issues, quality concerns, or downtime. Qualifications: • 1+ year of experience operating machines (lathe experience preferred; plastics a plus). CNC Milling experience a plus. • Basic understanding of machining processes and common measurement tools. • Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings or instructions. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Work Environment: • Exposure to loud noise, moving mechanical parts, and varying temperatures. • Personal protective equipment (PPE) required. • Hands-on role requiring standing, manual dexterity, and occasional lifting of materials or fixturing. • Ability to stand for extended periods. • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs repetitively. • Strong emphasis on quality, safety, and craftsmanship. • This position may involve exposure to, but is not limited to, the following materials: acrylic, polycarbonate, FR-4 epoxy glass, GPO (I, III, III) polyester glass, HDPE (high-density polyethylene), glass epoxy, G9 melamine laminate, copper, brass, and aluminum Schedule: • 2nd Shift: 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm Compensation and Benefits: • Competitive hourly wage/salary based on experience. • We offer excellent wages and comprehensive benefits including Medical Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, Paid Holidays, Vacation, and 401(K) with Employer match up to 4%.
