the opportunity

Our Embedded Systems Reliability Test Engineer designs, develops, and executes tests to ensure embedded hardware and firmware meet quality and performance standards under real-world and edge-case conditions. This role plays a key part in validating the durability, stability, and long-term reliability of our embedded platforms. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop automated and manual test procedures for embedded systems 
  • Design fixtures, test rigs, and custom setups for long-duration testing 
  • Work with embedded software engineers to identify and resolve failure modes 
  • Design repeatable test plans to evaluate system robustness and identify edge-case failures 
  • Collect, analyze, and report data to support product improvements 
  • Document test cases, outcomes, and reproducibility 
  • Collaborate with mechanical, software, electrical, and QA teams to resolve issues quickly
  • Support root cause analysis of failures, providing data-driven insights and recommendations
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results
  • Monitor industry standards, test methods, and reliability practices to continuously improve internal processes
  • Provide accurate and timely status updates on testing progress, issues, and risks to stakeholders
  • Pivots quickly and focus on high priority tasks if asked

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • 1-2 years of engineering experience or experience with embedded systems (internships or coursework)  
  • Familiarity with C/C++ and scripting languages (Python preferred) 
  • Strong analytical mindset and detail-oriented 
  • Hands-on experience building circuits, breadboards, or simple embedded projects in test plan development 
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional attitude when approaching work assignments
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and complex tasks
  • Strong math, analytical, reasoning, and critical thinking skills
