About the Role:

The Dining Services Aide plays a vital role in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment for all residents. This position is responsible for supporting the dining services team by assisting with food preparation, serving meals, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas. The aide contributes to a positive dining experience by promptly addressing resident needs and adhering to health and safety standards. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to providing excellent service in a fast-paced environment. Ultimately, the Dining Services Aide helps facilitate smooth dining operations that meet organizational standards and customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in food service or hospitality roles in a healthcare setting.
  • Certification in food handling or safety (e.g., ServSafe).
  • Familiarity with health department regulations and standards.
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely.
  • Multilingual skills to assist a diverse customer base.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with setting up dining areas, including arranging tables, chairs, and utensils before meal service.
  • Serve food and beverages to residents in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness of dining rooms, kitchen areas, and service stations by cleaning tables, sweeping floors, and disposing of waste.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a hygienic environment.
  • Support inventory management by restocking supplies and reporting shortages to supervisors.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and dining staff to ensure timely meal service and address customer requests or concerns.
  • Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen team.

The required skills such as communication and teamwork are essential for coordinating with kitchen staff and providing excellent customer service.
