Position will be staffed during clinic hours. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs phlebotomy and procedures on all patients Ensures lab area is stocked adequately and submits supply orders to supervisor Processes requests for reference lab send outs Greets patients and schedules appointments in a consistent manner Schedules and coordinates patient lab appointments Prepares patient intake slips for clinic and/or outside lab orders Processes lab orders via clinic computer system Verifies demographics and  insurance information Ensures all proper diagnosis codes and pertinent patient information is accurate prior to laboratory testing Prepare Advanced Beneficiary Notices forms as needed Work on lab appointment schedules for next day appointments Routes medical information as needed Maintains organized and updated lab order files Provides completed lab testing reports to outside facilities Verifies providers and coverage concerns for patients prior to laboratory testing Organizes and maintains a clean and efficient work space Stocks and maintains inventory of all registration supplies Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.   SUPPLEMENTAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Remain punctual, reliable, and available for late coverage if applicable Maintain a positive and respectful attitude while supporting the clinic vision Work effectively under pressure in a fast pace environment Maintain a neat and well groomed professional appearance Interact positively with all interdisciplinary team members Maintain confidentiality of all information acquired through clinic employment Establish and maintain positive working relationships with patients, providers, internal personnel, and outside facilities Follow clinic emergency/safety protocols and attend mandatory meetings Abide by clinic protocols, ergonomic recommendations, OSHA standards, & CLIA laws Adhere to the clinic philosophy and provide comprehensive care according to patient-centered healthcare clinic   WORKING CONDITIONS: Subject to interruptions, high volume telephone calls, and frequent problem solving activities Subject to hostile and emotionally upset patients, staff, or outside agencies Flexibility in scheduling to meet department needs   PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Abide by ergonomic recommendations of the position Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetic devices that will enable these senses to function adequately Sit or stand for several hours. Subject to lifting and carrying supplies averaging 25 pounds Repetitive motions involving use of phone and keyboard QualificationsEDUCATION: Minimum: Phlebotomist or CMA/MA EXPERIENCE: Minimum: One year in a customer service oriented position. Desired: Experience in phlebotomy in a health care setting KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of medical and laboratory testing terminology Knowledge of clinic computer system including Lab Information System Ability to work independently with minimal instruction Working knowledge of PC, Windows & Microsoft Office Ability to be accurate, efficient and detail oriented with ability to prioritize work
