Position OverviewÂ

The Production Supervisor leads daily operations on the shop floor, ensuring safe, efficient execution of complex Class 3 and Space Addendum assemblies. This role is hands-on and highly visible. The Supervisor drives schedule adherence, labor efficiency, quality performance, and team development while maintaining strict compliance with AS9100 and customer-specific workmanship standards.Â
This is not a clipboard supervisor role. This leader is present on the floor, removes barriers, and drives flow.Â
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
Execution & DeliveryÂ
- Own daily production performance against the master scheduleÂ
- Monitor WIP flow and eliminate bottlenecksÂ
- Partner with Planning and Scheduling to prioritize work based on shipment commitmentsÂ
- Ensure daily output aligns with monthly shipment targetsÂ
- Track and report schedule attainment and labor efficiencyÂ
Quality & Workmanship DisciplineÂ
- Enforce IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 and Space Addendum standardsÂ
- Ensure strict compliance with customer workmanship specificationsÂ
- Drive first-pass yield and reduce reworkÂ
- Support internal audits, customer audits, and corrective actionsÂ
- Maintain disciplined documentation and traveler integrityÂ
Team Leadership & DevelopmentÂ
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of high-skill operatorsÂ
- Conduct daily tier meetings focused on safety, quality, and deliveryÂ
- Promote cross-training and workforce flexibilityÂ
- Reinforce accountability and performance standardsÂ
- Support formal training requirements and certification trackingÂ
Continuous ImprovementÂ
- Identify and eliminate waste (travel, waiting, excess handling, rework)Â
- Improve work cell layout and flowÂ
- Support lean initiatives and standard work developmentÂ
- Drive measurable improvements in throughput and efficiencyÂ
Compliance & SafetyÂ
- Ensure AS9100 process compliance within production areasÂ
- Maintain ITAR and controlled data disciplineÂ
- Enforce ESD and FOD controlsÂ
- Maintain safe, organized work environmentsÂ
Required QualificationsÂ
- 5+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability manufacturingÂ
- 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experienceÂ
- Strong understanding of IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 (Space Addendum preferred)Â
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and build documentationÂ
- Experience working within AS9100 environmentsÂ
- Strong problem-solving skills and bias toward actionÂ
Preferred QualificationsÂ
- Experience supporting commercial space or launch vehicle programsÂ
- Lean manufacturing experienceÂ
- ERP experience (Epicor preferred)Â
- Experience in controlled technical data environments (ITAR)Â
