Description

Who is TD&I Cable?

Founded in 1987, TD&I Cable Maintenance quickly established a reputation for superior communication, installation, and quality service, initially specializing in coaxial splicing and aerial construction in Minnesota and Wisconsin. As technology and industry demands evolved, TD&I expanded its services in 1998 to include directional boring and plowing. With a philosophy that no project is too big or small and every deadline can be met, TD&I experienced significant growth, leading to the expansion of its corporate offices and warehouse in Hudson, Wisconsin, in 2000. To meet increasing industry demands, TD&I opened additional offices in Des Moines, Iowa, in 2010 and Cold Spring, Minnesota, in 2014 to better serve their growing customer base. 


The Equipment Operator is proficient in the operations of underground utility equipment (ex. horizontal directional drill or plow). They must possess excavation knowledge on OSHA regulations and safe excavation practices – benching, shoring, and excavating around live underground utilities. This role works closely with the Foreman on identifying potential hazards in excavation and conducts job site analysis. Often fills in for the Foreman when the Foreman is required to be off site.


Responsibilities:

  • Ensure maintenance/safe operation of the assigned equipment
  • Works closely with Foreman and crew
  • Ability to identify underground utilities and the underground utility locate markings
  • Understands and can interpret safe excavations practices on assigned projects
  • Upon qualifying for a DOT Medical Card, assist and operate combinations of commercial vehicles and trailers over 10,000 LBS
  • Additionally, if operating commercial vehicle and trailer combinations over 26,000 LBS, drivers are required to have and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a tanker endorsement, per FMCSA/DOT guidelines

  • Translate and troubleshoot design prints, locate tickets, and permits
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively, problem solving abilities
  • Good physical condition and stamina

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour depending on experience
