Job Description Summary
The Baer Project Manager position is responsible for marketing, estimating, project administration, planning, scheduling, and reporting for small to large sized prefabrication construction projects. Baer Manufacturing does work nationally on Commercial, Health Care, Data Center, and Light Industrial projects. This Project Manager will manage a variety of projects with a focus on the project that touch multiple work cells or projects that have subcontractors. This position will also be responsible for tracking the budgets on the large projects that are flowing through the building, as well as giving feedback to the estimating team.Job Description:
Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain existing projects and clients and work closely with Business Development to generate new customer relationships with a focus on prefabrication.
- Collaborate with the production managers to ensure that the projects comply with the contracts executed by Baer Manufacturing, union agreements, and all policies and procedures.
- Manage projects as economically as possible while recognizing commitment to customer satisfaction, quality workmanship, and positive industry image.
- Manage subcontractors, understanding the contracts that they have agreed to with Baer Manufacturing.
- Prepare, process, and maintain all files, correspondence, schedules, reports, and billing necessary to perform the responsibilities of the contract.
- Direct the planning of the project through purchasing, engineering, subcontracting, and installation.
- When necessary, work with the estimating team during the bidding process and reviewing bids and proposal letters before they are submitted to customers.
- Develop, drive and improve processes for project management
- Lead project status meetings - Serving as the main point of contact between stakeholders, team members, and upper management.
- Address issues that arise during the project, whether they relate to team dynamics, resource availability, or unforeseen challenges.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience working as a project manager in the construction industry, electrical construction experience preferred.
- Ability to understand design/build requirements as well as the scope of the contract documents issued for the prefabrication work to be performed.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction industry.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and the coordination of manpower and resources.
- Ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish the work.
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to train, delegate, and coordinate work of Assistant Project Manager, Estimators, and other team members.
Physical Requirements
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers, and fax machines.
- This position is occasionally required to be present on construction job sites and may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, uneven terrain, vibration, and noise, requiring the occasional use of a hard hat, work boots, high visibility vest, eye protection and gloves.
- Employees are frequently required to sit, and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch, or crawl.
- This position requires the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
- This position may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Pay Range:
$90,000.00 - $125,000.00Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
