Resolution Think, a Cognito Systems Joint Venture partner, is seeking a qualified Medical Office Clerk – Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) to support a government healthcare contract at Barksdale Medical Group, Barksdale AFB, Louisiana within a front desk clinical setting in a Department of Defense (DoD) medical treatment facility. The selected candidate will perform critical front desk and administrative functions including Greet patients/visitors at a clinic front desk; checks in patients for patient encounter. Answers main office phone line. Schedule medical appointments and determine patient eligibility for services as needed. Performs other administrative and clerical duties in support of medical care and operational support. Conducts end-of-day process at close of business and resolve any delinquent or pending appointments in computer system.

Location: Barksdale Air Force Base, LA
Schedule: Monday - Friday between the hours of 0700-1700

Core Duties:

  • Contact patients to schedule, reschedule, and/or cancel appointments as needed, to include appointments for consult/referral specialty care.
  • Use multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents to provide miscellaneous clerical support.
  • Assist patients with TRICARE tasks such as contacting TRICARE to assign PCM and creating/verifying secure messaging accounts.
  • Gain access and become familiar with EFMP Knowledge Exchange (KX).
  • Complete Total Force Management System (e.g. MyVector) training with the designated field trainer.
  • Gain/maintain access to MyVector (or like system).
  • Update MyVector Case Management Comments.
  • Monitor and update annual EFMP enrolled family contact in MyVector.
  • Analyze/resolve MyVector discrepancies.
  • Become familiar with and process EFMP enrollment/disenrollments.
  • Prepare and conduct EFMP briefings.
  • Register applicable inbound patients during base in-processing briefs.
  • Assist EFMP Special Needs Coordinator (SNC) with promptly completing family member travel clearances.
  • Gain/maintain access to the virtual Military Personnel Flight (vMPF) system and sign off active-duty members’ Virtual Out Processing (VOP) checklist.
  • Obtain documentation from non-military clinics and upload information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

Specific Duties:

  • A fully qualified typist (computer keyboard) with a minimum of 50 WPM is required.
  • General medical ethics, telephone etiquette, and excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • English language, correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to prepare and edit written correspondence, reports, and transcribed material.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • General office administrative and clerical skills to perform receptionist duties and answer telephones.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment, such as computers, typewriters, copiers, fax machines, telephone systems and office automations systems to perform a substantial range of medical record maintenance support.
  • General knowledge of Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be US Citizen per contract requirements 
  • Education: High School Degree or GED equivalency and medical terminology
  • Experience: Minimum 6 months - 1 year of clerical experience in a medical setting, or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Clearance: Tier 1 / Public Trust Security Clearance eligible
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS)
