Lead Teacher (Infant/Toddler) – The Goddard School | Ashburn, VA (20147)
The The Goddard School in Ashburn (20147) is seeking a professional, dependable, and nurturing Lead Teacher for our Infant/Toddler classroom.
This is not a babysitting role. We are a premium early childhood program with high standards for care, safety, curriculum, and parent communication.

Compensation & Benefits
- $20 – $25 per hour, based on experience, reliability, and ability to lead a classroom independentlyÂ
- $500 sign-on bonus

What You’ll Do
Classroom Leadership
- Â Lead an Infant/Toddler classroom with full ownership of routines, structure, and environmentÂ
- Â Create a calm, safe, and responsive environment aligned with developmental needsÂ
- Â Maintain strong classroom management using positive guidance techniquesÂ
Curriculum & Child Development
- Â Implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activitiesÂ
-  Observe, document, and support each child’s developmental milestonesÂ
- Â Adapt activities to meet individual needsÂ
Parent Communication (Critical)
- Â Build strong, professional relationships with families through daily communicationÂ
- Â Provide clear updates on development, routines, and any concernsÂ
- Â Handle parent questions with confidence and professionalismÂ
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Â Maintain strict adherence to all licensing, health, and safety standardsÂ
- Â Ensure classroom cleanliness, organization, and readiness at all timesÂ
- Â Supervise children actively during indoor and outdoor activitiesÂ
What We’re Looking For
Required
- Â Experience working with infants or toddlers in a licensed childcare settingÂ
- Â Strong reliability and professionalism (attendance and punctuality are critical)Â
- Â Ability to manage a classroom independentlyÂ
- Â Comfortable communicating with parents dailyÂ
Preferred
- Â Child Development Associate (CDA) or coursework in Early Childhood EducationÂ
-  1–3 years of classroom experienceÂ
- Â Familiarity with Virginia licensing requirementsÂ
Physical Requirements
- Â Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of childrenÂ
