The Electronic Security Install Apprentice is an entry-level role designed for individuals looking to launch a hands-on career in physical electronic security. Working directly under the mentorship of experienced Lead Technicians and Project Managers, you will assist in the rough-in, mounting, cabling, and basic setup of integrated security systems across commercial and enterprise client sites

Responsibilities

Assist lead technicians with pulling low-voltage cabling, mounting hardware, and installing peripheral security devices (cameras, card readers, door contacts, motion sensors).
Learn to read and interpret basic floor plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
Support device termination, labeling, testing, and cable management in panels and equipment racks.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites in accordance with company safety standards and OSHA guidelines.
Assist in tracking tools, hardware inventory, and daily site materials.
Document daily tasks and communicate progress or challenges to the Lead Technician.
Complete assigned manufacturer, safety, and hands-on technical training modules.

Qualifications

High school diploma, GED, or completion of a vocational/technical program in electronics, electrical trades, low-voltage cabling, telecommunications, or a related field.
0–1 year of hands-on experience; light experience with basic hand/power tools and low-voltage wiring is a strong plus.
Basic mechanical aptitude and an eagerness to learn physical electronic security systems (access control, IP video surveillance, intrusion detection).
Basic computer literacy (familiarity with Microsoft Office or mobile reporting apps).
Strong work ethic, punctuality, and the ability to follow safety guidelines and detailed technical instructions.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented field environment.
Physical ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, lift up to 50 lbs, and stand for extended periods.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a background check.
