Description
The Dem-Con Metals truck driver position is responsible for driving Roll Off trucks, tractor-trailers, lugger truck and or dock truck for collection services to ensure our customers’ expectations are met in transporting or disposing various metals to the appropriate location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Operates heavy duty commercial trucks and tractor-trailers
- Performs required pre-trip & post trip inspections and provides required reports
- Provides outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations
- Maintains all required certifications required by DOT
- Adheres to all OSHA and company safety programs
- Informs on-duty mechanic of any maintenance issues with equipment and/or vehicles Maintains various records and/or logs as needed per DOT regulations
- Fuels truck at the end of each workday
- Aids in keeping Customer location and/or facility clean by picking up litter around site
- Communicate effectively with management, dispatch and all division employees

WORK CONDITIONS Outdoor environment; exposure to extreme weather conditions; work with and around heavy trucks and machinery; exposure to dust and fumes from motorized equipment; exposure to noise, odors and gases; exposure to heavy traffic conditions, possible exposure to toxic chemicals.
