Apprentice, Laundry Service Technician

Job Purpose or Objective(s): Assist laundry service technician in trouble shooting, repairs and preventative maintenance on all types of laundry equipment. You will report to the Laundry Service Lead Technician.

Primary Tasks:

1. Assist laundry service technician in ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive and corrective maintenance requirements. Equipment and tools include motors, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, coupling and motor alignment, roller chain/sprockets alignment, conveyor systems, and production machines.

2. Learn, train with, and obtain technical knowledge from all members of the team.

3. Assist laundry service technician in locating sources of problems including observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for mechanical problems, and using measuring tools.

4. Inspect motors, electrical circuits, belts, hydraulics, and air systems to locate malfunctions and repairs.

5. Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines, this includes cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting.

6. Immediately notify supervisor of any issues, crisis, or emergencies while following safety protocol to maintain a safe work environment.

7. Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

8. Perform inventory tasks to maintain an accurate inventory of supplies and tools.

9. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

· Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, basic maintenance.

· Mechanically inclined.

· Work with others to perform complex responsibilities of a more specialized nature, frequently requiring independent analysis.

· Two (2) years of experience in equipment maintenance

· Must be able to travel for training.
