SUMMARY: This position provides operational support to all aspects of the lab.
RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned at management’s discretion.
- Maintain a safe, clean work environment by observing all local, state, and federal regulations regarding health, safety and the environment. This includes all established plant and lab safety practices to ensure good housekeeping/hygiene practices are maintained.
- Perform routine wet and instrumental chemistry analyses in accordance with established analytical methods and laboratory operating procedures.
- Prepare standards and perform calculations.
- Operate quality control system by entering data, observing control charts.
- Review standardization, quality control and sample analytical data for accuracy.
- Review, release, and record sample results.
- Collect and run samples in the plant as directed.

- High school diploma or GED required, associate degree in chemistry or related science field preferred.
- Prior experience in petroleum or chemical industries preferred.
- Ability to read and write effective reports and business correspondence using standard Microsoft Office products.
- Oral presentation skills must be effective with all levels of management.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The role is primarily performed in a laboratory setting within a renewable diesel production facility.
- Employees may be exposed to airborne particles, chemical fumes, flammable liquids, and other hazardous substances; appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and is required.
- Work may occasionally occur near loud equipment for limited periods of time. Appropriate PPE will be provided and is required.
- The environment requires adherence to established safety, cleanliness, and quality protocols at all times.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the ability to:
- Remain in a stationary position or stand for extended periods.
- Lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, such as operating lab instruments and preparing chemical solutions.
- Visually inspect materials and read instruments, labels, and digital screens with or without corrective lenses.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: This position follows a 7-day on / 7-day off schedule, working 12-hour shifts. Flexibility may be required to support operational needs, including occasional extended hours or schedule adjustments.
