JOB SUMMARY: Performs product verification and documentation from the receipt of raw material and parts, through the manufacturing processes to the completion of the verification and documentation process at final inspection, to ensure conformance to requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: •   Reads blueprints, work order, specifications, acceptance criteria and quality plans to obtain information such as dimensional requirements, materials, visual attributes and documentation requirements. •   Perform and document measurements to determine conformance to dimensional, visual, weight and finish requirements.  Dimensional measurements such as diameter, cross-section, height, length, angles, radii, etc., must be made and documented.  Visual criteria must be evaluated. •   Perform and document first production pieces, new parts and first articles, both internal and to customer. •   Perform Line Inspections to help reduce scrap. •   Prepare certificates of conformance. •   Enter inspection data into ERP system and relevant Inspection forms. REQUIREMENTS: •   Must have a clear understanding of basic math, geometry and trigonometry skills with the ability to understand and calculate angles, diameter, circumference and radius.  •   High school diploma or GED. •   Must have the ability to read, write and comprehend English. Good team player who can work efficiently with minimal supervision. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: •   3 to 5 years of experience as a quality inspector in a manufacturing environment. •   Knowledgeable of and ability to use inspection tools and equipment. •   Ability to comprehend engineering blueprints and complex geometric tolerancing.  •   Understand technical specifications, procedures and terminology. •   Familiarity with ISO, QS, as well as industry and governmental standards. •   Ability to run and/or program a CMM using Calypso software. WORK ENVIRONMENT & POTENTIAL HAZARDS: Spends 100% of time in shop.  May be exposed to possible shop hazards including heavy machinery, fumes, dust, heat and high pressure and temperatures.
