The 'Project Engineer’ performs at a high level with application of structural engineering principals, and provides technical leadership, technical oversight, and may contribute to project management for engineering projects from proposal development through final delivery while ensuring quality, budget, and schedule objectives are met. This role serves as a structural discipline technical lead, mentors' technical staff, and provides advanced technical guidance related to project development, bridge inspection, and bridge design activities. The position may also assist with project management, multidisciplinary project team coordination, and interact with client staff. Essential Functions: Preparation of structural engineering designs, analysis, evaluations, studies, and reports. Proficient at preparation of construction documents, including design details, construction drawings, technical specifications, and estimates. Assist with development of project scope, schedule, budget, staffing, and deliverables. Will manage selected projects. Participate in presentations such as public meetings. Perform and provide technical oversight and quality review for bridge inspections, structural analyses, and design documents. Be the Structural Lead on multidisciplinary project teams, and coordinate technical matters with subconsultants, and other technical staff. Assist with the development of project proposals, fee estimates, work plans, and schedules for new project opportunities. Assist with building strong relationships with clients, agencies, and stakeholders. Implement and perform QA/QC procedures and document control to ensure compliance with company and industry standards. Mentor and provide training and guidance to engineers and technical staff. Coordinate field investigations and bridge inspection activities as required. Assist with monitoring project performance related to technical, budget, or schedule concerns. Initiate corrective action as necessary. May assist department leadership with operational planning, staff development, and resource coordination. Stay current with industry trends, bridge inspection requirements, structural design methodologies, and applicable software tools. Perform additional duties as assigned in support of departmental and company objectives. QualificationsQualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related field required (structural preference) Masters Degree in engineering preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) License required Minimum 8 years of progressive engineering experience required Bridge inspection experience required Structural and bridge design and analysis experience required
