Position Overview

The Driver Helper assists in the safe and timely unloading and delivery of products to customers. This role supports delivery operations by working alongside the driver to ensure accurate, efficient deliveries while providing courteous and professional customer service.

Essential Responsibilities

Assist the driver with delivery of company products in a professional and efficient manner
Unload product from trucks or trailers at customer locations, including handling touch freight
Provide excellent customer service during all delivery interactions
Ensure product is delivered accurately and placed according to customer requirements
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the truck, trailer, and delivery areas
Ensure loads remain secure and safe during transit
Sweep pallets and clean trailer and cab at the end of each shift
Assist with basic inventory handling during deliveries
Follow all company safety guidelines and procedures at all times
Support overall delivery operations and assist with additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to lift 70 pounds or more on a consistent basis
Ability to frequently walk up and down stairs and navigate delivery environments
Ability to perform repetitive loading and unloading tasks (touch freight)
Reliable, dependable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
Ability to work in varying weather conditions and temperature environments
Ability to adhere to all company safety policies and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in delivery, warehouse, or distribution environments preferred
Experience with foodservice distribution or similar industries preferred
