The Farm Director leads the Redeemer Valley Farm and Farm Team (Staff and Volunteers), in fulfilling its mission of caring for creation, cultivating relationship that assist in promoting social and environmental sustainability and supporting an environment of eco-spirituality and hospitality. The Farm Director provides visionary leadership and operational management to advance our mission.Ā S/He supports all fundraising and grant application efforts.Ā The Farm Director will be knowledgeable of the Sisters of the Redeemer Charism and Spirituality and will be committed to the values that flow from the Congregational heritage and values.
SUMMARY OF JOB
1. Strategic Leadership:
- Implement strategic plans in alignment with the Sistersā mission and values, guiding the Farm Team and Community toward impactful and sustainable growth.
- Lead efforts to integrate principles of environmental stewardship and care for creation into all aspects of our programs and operations.
- Collaborate with the Sisters of the Redeemer, Board of Directors, Staff, and Stakeholders to identify emerging opportunities and challenges, adapting our strategies accordingly.

2. Operations Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the farm in coordination with the Farm Managers, including crop production, land management, and infrastructure maintenance, ensuring alignment with sustainable practices.Ā
- Manage administrative functions, including budgeting, financial planning, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices in environmental conservation and agricultural management.
- Help with hands-on animal care, farm projects and events as needed, particularly during peak times (e.g. spring birthing season, summer harvest and fundraisers).

3. Community Engagement:
- Cultivate and nurture relationships with community partners, local organizations, and stakeholders to enhance collaboration and support for our mission.
- Facilitate inclusive and accessible programming that engages diverse communities and fosters connections between people and the land.
- Represent Redeemer Valley Farm at public events, forums, and meetings to raise awareness and advocate for environmental stewardship and community.
Ā 4. Fundraising and Development:
- Works collaboratively with Fundraiser/Grant Writer
- Coordinate closely with internal and external fundraising professionals to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure financial support from grants, donations, sponsorships, and other sources.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, supporters, and funding partners, communicating the impact of their contributions and fostering long-term engagement.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for strategic partnerships and collaborations that enhance our capacity to fulfill our mission and expand our reach.

Ā 5. Human Resource Management:
- Ā Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new staff and volunteers, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Manage performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and support professional development for staff and volunteers.
- Address and resolve any HR-related issues, conflicts, or concerns in a timely and effective manner, promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Manage staffing schedules and staff composed of varied employment status, (Full-Time, Part-Time, PRN, Supplemental, Volunteers, etc.) to ensure weekdays, weekends and evenings are properly staffed.
RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Deep Understanding of Redeemer Valley Farm as a ministry of the Sisters of the Redeemer.
- Deep understanding of sustainable agriculture, environmental conservation, and principles of care for creation.
- Track record of successfully coordinating with fundraising professional to provide the expertise necessary to obtain grants and cultivate donors, with the ability to meet or exceed revenue targets.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to inspire, engage, and mobilize diverse stakeholders toward a shared vision.
- Strong organizational and strategic planning abilities, with a focus on innovation, adaptability, and continuous improvement.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with the ability to foster a welcoming environment for all.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for events and community outreach activities.
