Job Title: Fire Sprinkler Fitter

Location: Huntingdon, PA

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Where You'll Fit:
DC Goodman is seeking a mid-level Fire Sprinkler Fitter to install, modify, and maintain fire sprinkler systems on commercial and industrial job sites. This role suits someone with 2–5 years of hands-on experience who can work with moderate supervision, read complex system layouts, and reliably execute installations to code on large-scale projects such as warehouses, manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, and commercial buildings.

What You'll Build:

  • Install, assemble, and fit pipe, fittings, valves, and sprinkler heads for large-scale wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems per approved drawings and specifications
  • Cut, thread, groove, and join pipe (including larger-diameter industrial pipe) using standard fitting methods
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and hydraulic calculations for commercial/industrial systems under guidance from a foreman or lead fitter
  • Install and support overhead piping in high-bay warehouse and industrial environments, often working from lifts or at significant heights
  • Perform system pressure testing, flushing, and assist with fire marshal/AHJ inspections
  • Identify and troubleshoot installation issues on complex systems, escalating design-level problems to the foreman
  • Coordinate with other trades (electrical, HVAC, structural) common on commercial/industrial sites
  • Maintain a safe, organized job site and follow all OSHA and NFPA safety standards
  • Assist in training or mentoring entry-level apprentices as needed
  • Accurately track materials, time, and job progress across multi-phase projects

Qualifications:

  • 2–5 years of experience in commercial/industrial fire sprinkler installation
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 13 (commercial/industrial systems); familiarity with pre-action and deluge systems a plus
  • Ability to read blueprints and hydraulic calculations for larger, more complex systems
  • Proficient with hand and power tools, pipe threading/grooving machines used in industrial pipefitting
  • Comfortable working from scissor lifts, boom lifts, and scaffolding
  • OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 preferred
  • NICET Level I or II preferred, or actively working toward certification
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work at heights, in confined spaces, and in industrial/warehouse environments

What Sets This Role Apart from Entry-Level:

  • Works with less direct supervision on standard commercial/industrial installs
  • Can independently complete sections of large-scale system installs without step-by-step guidance
  • Expected to catch basic errors before they become inspection failures
  • May take a lead role on smaller commercial jobs or discrete phases of larger industrial projects
