About Mach Industries

Founded in 2022, Mach Industries is a rapidly growing defense technology company focused on developing next-generation autonomous defense platforms. At the core of our mission is the commitment to delivering scalable, decentralized defense systems that enhance the strategic capabilities of the United States and its allies. With a workforce of approximately 220 employees, we operate with startup agility and ambition.

Our vision is to redefine the future of warfare through cutting-edge manufacturing, innovation at speed, and unwavering focus on national security. We are dedicated to solving the next generation of warfare with lethal systems that deter kinetic conflict and protect global security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop avionics mounting architectures, including shock and vibration isolation, structural load paths, serviceability, and connector access.

  • Own avionics enclosure and electronics packaging design with a strong emphasis on practical EMI/EMC mitigation techniques such as grounding/bonding strategies, shielding effectiveness, cable entry management, conductive gasketing, filtered connectors, and enclosure seam design.

  • Design and release wire harnesses, including routing, connector selection, strain relief, bend-radius compliance, abrasion protection, shielding termination, grounding schemes, and maintainability.

  • Support avionics thermal integration by developing conductive and convective heat rejection paths, component-level thermal budgets, and validating performance through testing.

  • Develop and execute environmental qualification testing for integrated avionics assemblies, including vibration, shock, thermal cycling, ingress protection, and support for EMI/EMC testing.

  • Work cross-functionally with electrical, firmware, systems, manufacturing, and test teams to manage packaging constraints, connector interfaces, harness architecture, grounding schemes, and hardware bring-up through flight qualification.

  • Contribute to test plans, technical documentation, and engineering reviews.

  • Ability to support critical project milestones, including working extended hours or weekends when required.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on avionics integration, electronics packaging, or wire harness design (professional, academic, or hobby/project experience considered).

  • Strong experience with 3D CAD tools (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, or equivalent) for mechanical design and detailed drawings.

  • Practical experience with EMI/EMC mitigation techniques, enclosure design, and wire harness routing/integration.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience owning end-to-end hardware development and integration efforts (e.g., student aerospace/rocketry teams, UAV projects, automotive electronics integration, or similar).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with environmental qualification testing (vibration, shock, thermal, IP testing).

  • Working knowledge of thermal management best practices for electronics.

  • Familiarity with lightweight materials, additive manufacturing, or composites for aerospace applications.

  • Experience collaborating closely with electrical engineering teams on connector selection, grounding, and shielding.

  • Knowledge of aerospace or defense standards and requirements for avionics integration.
