Position Overview

Summary: The Human Resource Intern will support the HR team in various aspects of recruitment, employee relations, training, and overall HR operations. This internship is an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates interested in gaining practical experience in human resource management and contributing to a dynamic HR department. 


Essential Functions

  • Recruitment Support:
    • Assist with the job posting process on various platforms.
    • Assist with screening resumes and applications to help identify qualified candidates.
    • Assist with scheduling and coordinating interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
    • Participate in conducting initial phone interviews.
  • Onboarding:
    • Support the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing welcome materials and participating in orientation sessions.
    • Assist with ensuring new employee paperwork is completed and filed appropriately.
  • Employee Records Management:
    • Assist with maintaining and updating employee records and databases.
    • Assist in the preparation and processing of HR-related documents.
  • HR Administration:
    • Support the HR team in day-to-day administrative tasks, including the preparation of HR-related reports and presentations.
    • Assist in organizing employee files and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
    • Assist in maintaining employee records and HR databases with high accuracy.
    • Help respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
    • Maintain confidentiality in all HR-related matters.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Participate in planning and organizing employee engagement activities and events.
    • Support HR initiatives aimed at improving employee morale and workplace culture.
  • Training and Development:
    • Assist in identifying training needs and helping organize training sessions.
    • Assist in maintaining training records and evaluating training effectiveness.
  • HR Projects:
    • Participate in HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
    • Conduct research on HR best practices and trends.

Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities enable you to overcome obstacles, identify challenges, analyze root causes, and develop innovative solutions to address HR project issues or obstacles and find creative solutions.


Attention to Detail: Accuracy is crucial in every area and requires paying close attention to details to ensure that all information is correct and complete.


Adaptability: The HR landscape is constantly evolving, with new technologies and trends emerging regularly. This requires adaptability and openness to learning new tools and strategies to stay competitive, and flexibility to adjust to changing project requirements, priorities, or environments while maintaining focus on project goals and objectives.


Ethical Conduct: Upholding ethical standards is fundamental in HR, including maintaining confidentiality, avoiding bias in candidate selection, and adhering to legal regulations and company policies.


Analytical Skills: Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret HR data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform project decisions and strategies.

Requirements / Training and Experience

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Currently enrolled in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to maintain a professional, positive attitude.
  • Must be able to successfully pass e-Verify background check, and drug and alcohol screen.
  • Complete other duties/projects as required and/or assigned.


Work Environment


The Human Resources Intern position works primarily in an office environment. Occupational health and safety practices are essential in manufacturing environments and all interns and employees are expected to adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate protective equipment when necessary.
