Job DetailsJob Location: Huntington Beach HQ Office - Huntington Beach, CA 92648Salary Range: $150,000.00 - $170,000.00 SalaryINNOCEAN USA is looking for a skilled Data Engineering Manager to join our team!    INNOCEAN USA is a full-service advertising agency powering some of the world's most recognized automotive and consumer brands. As our Data Engineering Manager, you will own the Databricks platform that underpins everything we build with data: from media measurement and campaign analytics to audience intelligence and client reporting.   This role combines deep technical platform expertise with people leadership. You will drive our Databricks & AWS platform strategy while ensuring the organization has reliable, high-quality data to make informed decisions. You will report directly to the VP of Analytics & Engineering and partner closely with Analytics, Business Intelligence, Strategy, and client-facing teams.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES  Data Platform & Engineering Own Databricks platform strategy: architecture decisions, Unity Catalog administration, cost optimization, and operational excellence. Drive data pipeline development: batch and real-time ingestion using PySpark, Spark SQL, and Databricks Workflows. Architect and maintain the Lakehouse using medallion architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold) and establish Delta Lake/Spark best practices. Establish data quality standards: validation frameworks, monitoring, alerting, and expectation management across all pipelines. Evaluate and adopt new Databricks capabilities including Mosaic AI, AI/BI Dashboards, Genie, and Lakeflow as the internal platform SME.   Governance & Security Administer Unity Catalog: manage metastores, catalogs, schemas, and fine-grained access controls. Enforce data governance policies, create and manage IAM permissions in AWS, and manage platform SSO configuration. Implement data lineage tracking, auditing, and observability tooling across the platform.   Leadership & Management Lead, mentor, and grow the data engineering team: hiring, performance management, and career development Partner cross-functionally with Analytics, Business Intelligence and client-facing teams to align platform capabilities with business needs Drive platform onboarding, documentation, and training to increase self-service adoption across the organization Champion engineering best practices: code reviews, CI/CD, testing, and observability   REQUIREMENTS  Must Have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2 years managing or leading teams Deep Databricks expertise: Workflows, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and platform administration Strong Spark experience: PySpark, Spark SQL, and understanding of distributed processing Proven people management skills: hiring, mentoring, performance management, and team development Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and how Databricks integrates with cloud-native services Strong communication skills for partnering with both technical and business stakeholders   Nice to Have Advertising, media, or marketing technology data platform experience Familiarity with media data sources (e.g., DCM, Google Ads, Meta Business Suite, The Trade Desk) AI fluency on the Databricks platform: Mosaic AI, Databricks Assistant, AI/BI Dashboards, Model Serving, and Genie for natural language data interaction Databricks Certified Associate or Professional certification (Data Engineer or Platform Administrator) Experience with streaming architectures (Kafka, Kinesis, or Databricks Structured Streaming/SDP) Data governance and cost optimization experience for cloud data platforms     BENEFITS    3 PPO Medical Plans through Anthem to choose from at low cost Free Dental and Vision 401k match Wellness reimbursement program Company paid short- and long-term disability, and basic life Generous PTO On-site Barista Beautiful campus across from the Pacific Ocean      Salary range: $150,000 to $170,000   Pay is dependent upon several factors including but not limited to: years of experience, client, training, and transferable skills.    Who are we?
