The Data Steward ensures enterprise data—primarily Item Master and Customer Data—is accurate, consistent, compliant, and properly governed across systems and regions. The role supports data governance, quality, documentation, lineage, and regulatory alignment while partnering with business, IT, analytics, legal, privacy, security, and regional teams to maintain enterprise data standards and support reliable analytics and scalable operations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Supports governance of Item Master, Customer Data, and enterprise data initiatives; defines and maintains data definitions, naming conventions, and governance standards.
• Coordinates updates to items, customers, and related data structures, and ensures semantic consistency of data across systems, departments, and regions.
• Defines and monitors data quality standards (accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness); identifies and coordinates resolution of data quality issues and duplication.
• Establishes validation checkpoints before data is shared or consumed by downstream business processes, analytics, or reporting.
• Supports compliance with regional data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, China, Turkey); maintains inventories of customer personal data and documents data lineage, usage purpose, and access boundaries.
• Supports data subject rights processes, ensures Item Master data aligns with regulatory requirements, and partners with Legal, the Data Protection Officer (DPO), and Security teams.
• Documents end-to-end data flows for Item Master, Customer Data, and related datasets; maintains data dictionaries, glossaries, field definitions, and lineage documentation that is accessible and version controlled.
• Coordinates data governance activities across departments and regions, collaborating with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales, Finance, IT, and other teams; facilitates alignment between data-producing and data-consuming teams.
• Maintains reliable and consistent attendance, including being punctual, dependable, and flexible to potential schedule changes to meet the needs of the department and the organization.
• Executes each essential duty satisfactorily to perform job successfully.
• Follows all safety procedures required in work area, wears PPE as needed, attends all safety meetings, and reports safety issues regarding equipment or unsafe/hazardous conditions.
• Performs effectively as a team member, able to work well with others, open to receive and give feedback, and treats everyone with respect.
• Takes ownership of own work and behavior, accepts accountability for own actions, encourages solutions, and communicates status of work/projects.
• Follows all department quality standards/criteria. Raises concerns and issues to management.
• Understands department’s key performance indicators (KPIs) and contributes to achieve these goals both individually and as a team.
• Other duties as needed or required.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Educates users on enterprise data standards and governance practices; supports on-boarding of new users, systems, regions, and acquisitions.
• Serves as a point of contact for data governance and quality questions across the organization.
• Some travel may be required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Business, or related field.
• Three to six years of experience working with enterprise or master data domains, data quality, data governance initiatives, or a similar environment
• Experience collaborating with business stakeholders to resolve data issues and enforce standards.
• Basic understanding of data lifecycle concepts (creation, usage, maintenance).
• Strong documentation, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with ERP, CRM, MDM, or Item Master systems.
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks and data privacy or regulatory concepts.
• Experience working in global or multi-region environments.
• Understanding of relational databases, APIs, and system data exchange.
• Knowledge of system integration, including data movement, mapping, and data mismatches.
• Ability to collaborate with IT and application owners to document interfaces and data flows.

COMPENSATION RANGE:
$79,000 - $96,000
Salary may vary based on experience.
