This role is part of our Hypersonics and Strategic Missile Defense business, which designs, develops, and delivers highly dependable missile systems for hypersonic and strategic missile defense missions. We provide integrated, mission-ready hardware that brings together multiple technologies into unified systems engineered to perform in demanding operational environments. Our tip-to-tail capabilities include payload protection and deployment systems, propulsion systems, aerodynamic interstage systems, separation systems, missile subsystems, shroud systems, launch systems, and payload integration solutions.
The Tool Crib Attendant supports production by organizing, maintaining, and restocking the tool room while ensuring tools, fixtures, and supplies are properly prepared for manufacturing needs. This role assists with preventive maintenance scheduling, coordinates repairs, maintains tooling records, and supports shop operations through accurate labeling, inventory handling, and equipment upkeep.
Responsibilities
- Cleans, organizes, and labels fixtures and prepares tool kits.
- Recommends fixture reconditioning or remake when needed.
- Maintains tool inventory using Kanban systems or vending machines.
- Creates purchase requests for machine shop tools and related supplies.
- Reconditions and recycles tooling as required.
- Schedules monthly, quarterly, biannual, and annual preventive machine maintenance.
- Reports machine damage or malfunctions and logs maintenance activities in MaintainX.
- Assists with minor machine repairs and coordinates major repairs with outside suppliers.
- Follows safety practices and performs tasks safely while contributing to team efforts.
- Works independently as required.
Required Qualifications
- 2 or more years of relevant experience.
- Strong work ethic, communication skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong adherence to safety requirements.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Good math skills and basic computer skills.
- Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Conventional machining experience is a plus.
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED).
