Position Summary

Marshall Health Network is seeking a Vice President of Emergency and Trauma Services to provide strategic and operational leadership for emergency, trauma, transfer center, and medical command services across the health system.

This executive leader will develop and execute a cohesive vision for emergency and trauma services while advancing system-wide goals related to quality outcomes, patient experience, physician integration, operational performance, growth, research, and network partnerships. The Vice President will collaborate closely with physicians, executive leadership, and community stakeholders to further position Marshall Health Network as a leading provider of tertiary emergency and trauma care throughout the region.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an integrated governance and operational approach for emergency, trauma, transfer center, and medical command services across Marshall Health Network.
  • Lead service line strategy, planning, growth initiatives, and operational performance.
  • Collaborate with physicians, hospital leadership, and senior executives to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Establish annual and multi-year goals aligned with the strategic priorities of Marshall Health Network.
  • Monitor and evaluate financial, operational, and clinical performance outcomes.
  • Coordinate service line operations to ensure consistency in care standards and implementation of evidence-based practices.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services and improve quality outcomes.
  • Develop and implement business plans that support strategic, financial, and operational objectives.
  • Foster collaboration and engagement among physicians, leadership teams, and staff.
  • Support technology and innovation initiatives that enhance patient care and service line differentiation.
  • Analyze opportunities for standardization and cost-effective service delivery across the network.
  • Pursue research and grant opportunities in collaboration with network and foundation leadership.
  • Support provider and employee recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Represent the service line on organizational, hospital, and medical staff committees as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.

Qualifications

Education

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree with commensurate executive-level experience will be considered, with a master's degree required within three years of hire.

Experience

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of acute care experience with a focus on emergency and trauma services.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in a multi-site health system and/or academic environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of healthcare strategy, operations, finance, and physician relations.

Reporting Relationship

Reports To: Chief Nursing Officer or Designee

Supervises: Emergency Department Directors and Leadership, Trauma Program Coordinators, Transfer Center Coordinators, Medical Command Coordinator, Discharge Throughput Managers, and other assigned leaders across Marshall Health Network.
