St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking a Full Time Nurse Navigator for our Surgery Department.  The Nurse Navigator for OR scheduling, revenue cycle and flow is the responsibility of a Staff Registered Nurse in coordination with the Surgery Manager and Director of Surgical Services or their designee. Responsible for scheduling and revenue cycle oversight for the OR. Assures that procedures are posted in a timely manner and are posted correctly with the associated CPT code and prior authorization. Works with the physicians, their offices, OR staff, the revenue cycle team, pre-certification, and case management teams to assure proper documentation, correct patient status, and reports changes/additions in procedures in real time to decrease controllable write offs.  Manages the CWO report for the OR. Works in staffing as needed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: 

Graduate of an approved School of Nursing and an unrestrictive active license as a Registered Nurse in the State of West Virginia. BSN preferred. Certification in Field of Specialty (preferred or must obtain within two (2) years of employment). CNOR/CRNFA, or certification in Med/Surg Nursing if for Endo Specialty.

 

EXPERIENCE:  

Minimum of five (5) years of operating room nursing experience.

 

SKILLS:   

Knowledge of surgical terminology, equipment, materials, policies/procedures, sterilization protocol/OR attire, and the fundamental methods relating to surgery. Demonstrates basic knowledge of data collection, research protocols, etc. Knowledge of surgical procedures. Demonstrate leadership skills and collaborative skills. BLS required.
