Pharmacy Technician - Marshall Dermatology

Job Responsibilities: 

• Works with Clinical Pharmacists, nurses, and medical staff to obtain prior authorizations for medications.
• Assists Pharmacists and medical team in appeals for prior authorizations.
• Communicates with patients, clinicians and medical providers in a clear and concise manner. 
• Assists medical team in getting complete medication reconciliation. 
• Assists patients with obtaining medication.  Confirms ability to afford medication before leaving clinic and assists with financial support if needed. 
• Tracks specialty medication including refills, compliance and reporting. 
• Teaches, mentors and precepts technician students. 
• Coordinates prescription filling with Pharmacy. 
• Follows up on adherence issues. 
• Works with healthcare team to maximize department ratings including Star measures, PCMH and MTM. 
• Serves on committees as needed. 
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested. 

Education:  Current WV Pharmacy technician license required.  Must hold current National Certification or equivalent. 
Experience:  Minimum 2 years' experience in clinical patient care management preferred.  Specialty medication experience preferred.  Clinical Pharmacy experience preferred.
