$23–$27+ per hour | Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Location: In-office in East Northport, NY

Primary focus: Dispatching, scheduling, daily operational coordination, and turning quality customer conversations into booked work.

If you are:

  • Outgoing and customer-focused
  • Comfortable with a changing pace—responsive when things get busy and self-directed during quieter periods
  • Skilled at juggling priorities and making sound decisions in real time
  • Proactive and able to identify useful work without constant direction
  • Looking to join a company that genuinely values its people

…then this role may be a great fit.

Who We Are

Mr. Handyman of Huntington & Smithtown is a local, family-owned franchise known for top-tier workmanship and a best-in-class customer experience.

Our steady growth is the result of a strong team, loyal customers, and a commitment to taking great care of both. With demand for our services continuing to grow, we’re looking for the right person to grow with us.

Why Join Us?

  • Fun, friendly, and supportive team culture
  • Competitive pay: $23–$27/hr+, based on experience and performance.
  • Opportunities for increased responsibility and compensation for top performers
  • Paid holidays & PTO
  • Retirement plan
  • AFLAC supplemental insurance
  • Dental & Vision Insurance
  • Team-building events and activities
  • Growth opportunities within a thriving business
  • Supportive, friendly team culture
  • Office goldendoodle included

What You’ll Do

This role is ideal for a high-performing dispatch and customer coordination professional who enjoys owning the schedule, guiding customers to a booking, and keeping field operations running smoothly.

  • Lead helpful customer conversations that turn inquiries into booked appointments
  • Listen carefully, ask the right questions, and identify each customer’s needs
  • Clearly explain our services, process, availability, and pricing structure
  • Set clear and realistic expectations from the first conversation
  • Respond to inbound calls, texts, and emails promptly and professionally
  • Manage daily dispatching and technician schedules to maximize productivity and minimize travel time
  • Make real-time scheduling adjustments in response to job changes, urgent requests, delays, and customer needs
  • Serve as a central point of coordination between customers, technicians, and the office
  • Support technicians in the field with timely information and schedule updates
  • Take ownership of administrative tasks that keep the team organized, responsive, and efficient
  • Follow up with customers and help ensure a consistently excellent experience

Important to Know

This position combines customer-facing booking conversations with real-time dispatching and operational coordination.

You’ll speak with customers to understand their needs, explain how we work, and help them take the next step by scheduling an appointment. You’ll then help ensure those jobs are routed, scheduled, and completed as smoothly as possible.

This is not a script-based call-center position. Success requires sound judgment, active listening, confident communication, and the ability to guide conversations toward a clear outcome while managing a fast-moving schedule.

If you enjoy meaningful customer interaction and hands-on operational problem-solving, you’ll thrive here.

What We’re Looking For

  • A friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor
  • Three to five years of experience in dispatching, customer service, scheduling, or administration
  • Strong scheduling and dispatching skills
  • The ability to manage changing priorities and remain calm under pressure
  • Confidence guiding customer conversations toward a booked appointment without using high-pressure sales tactics
  • A natural, conversational communication style
  • Excellent phone, text, and email communication skills
  • Strong organization, reliability, and attention to detail
  • Comfort using technology and learning new systems
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Ability to reliably commute to our local office

Experience with home-service or contractor-based businesses is preferred. CRM or ServiceTitan experience is also a plus.

An interest in home improvement or previous field experience is an added bonus.

Sound Like You?

We’d love to hear from you. Apply today and take the next step toward a role where your skills, personality, and commitment to great service will be genuinely appreciated.
