Assigns duties to employees and provides daily guidance and supervision. Provides and/or ensures employees receive instruction/training needed to complete their assigned job responsibilities. Ensures that employees are aware of, and adhere to, appropriate company policies and procedures. Provides input into the maintenance and upkeep of departmental job descriptions. Develops employees by being a mentor, providing support and guidance. Prepares and conducts performance appraisals. Participates in hiring, disciplinary, and termination procedures.   Oversees the quality of services and safety of the program to ensure success. Responsible for successful adherence to accrediting and regulatory bodies governing programs and services. Conducts audits of timekeeping and performance to ensure persons served receive appropriate service at the level required. Encourages independence and self-promoting behaviors from persons served in day-to-day interactions.   Participates in engagement, screening, assessment, and coordination of services for persons served. Ensures all individuals discharged from psychiatric hospitalization are seen face-to-face within program guidelines to promote stability. Conducts interviews with individuals (and legal guardians as indicated) to collect information both initially and ongoing to address suicidal or homicidal ideations and social determinants of health. Schedules appointments and ensures transportation is secured for individuals served; transports as needed. Refers persons served and families to additional services based on individual need. Collaborates with community and outside agencies to ensure support and services are in place for successful community reintegration. Provides after-hours availability to meet individual needs. Participates in treatment plan meetings for individuals served. QualificationsPrimary Attributes Professional & Technical Knowledge: Possesses the equivalent of formal training in behavioral health, usually in the form of a major in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or Criminal Justice as part of a Bachelor’s Degree program. Must know all aspects of the trade as it is performed in the organization, sufficient to effectively train or instruct others, and to serve as a resource to employees. Continuing Education: Maintains current knowledge of standards of care and practices, typically acquired through continuing education. Licenses & Certifications: A valid state-issued driver’s license is required. Technical Skills: Prepares basic correspondence and simple reports in Microsoft Word. Uses Microsoft Excel to create tables and simple displays of information. Creates basic presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint. Demonstrates necessary proficiency with all electronic clinical systems, including EHR and scheduling systems, in use at the Company. General Development: Displays more advanced organizational skills to organize projects or the work of others. Devises effective solutions to situations encountered based on the general goals and objectives of the function.  Able to effectively communicate opinions drawn from conclusions using inference and logic. Exercises tact and diplomacy in resolving mild conflicts or disagreements. Work Environment: Work is performed independently in the field or a typical office environment. Physical demands include frequent walking, standing, and possibly climbing stairs in homes without elevators. The position may occasionally involve lifting or carrying materials.
