Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-time Clinic Nuclear Med Tech with our Marshall Health Cardiology Department. 

 

Under the direction of the Nuclear Medicine Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day operation of all NM activities at MH Cardiology.  Confirms orders, documents, medical necessity, and pre-authorization on all NM orders. NM Technologists must meet the minimum federal standards on the administration of radioactive drugs and the operation of radiation detection equipment. 

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Junior College/Technical School required. 
  • ARRT (N) required. 
  • WV Medical Imagining license required. 
  • AHA BLS required. 
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) required. 
  • Registered Sonographer (ARDMS) preferred. 
  • 2 years of position-related experience required. 

The kind of position-related experience includes:

               

  • Good working knowledge of Nuclear Medicine procedures, pathology, medical terminology, application software, and radiopharmaceuticals.  Ability to skillfully operate NM equipment and related patient support equipment is required.  Adherence to established procedure protocols.
  • Working knowledge of all NM examinations, exam preps, and other information pertinent to placing orders and verifying appropriateness.

This individual must be mature, responsible, and use initiative for independent judgment when necessary.  The incumbent is required to have a high standard of medical ethics and have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patient, employees, physicians, and the general public.
