Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a Materials Management Clerk to work with our Storeroom Department.

 

The incumbent's duties include, but are not limited to:  To receive, prepare, process, store, maintain, clean, and dispense/issue equipment and sterile and non-sterile supplies to nursing units, outpatient services, ancillary services, and other offsite locations designated by the Materials Management department and hospital leadership.  All processes will be in accordance with existing hospital standards, guidelines, and policies.  May be asked to drive a hospital van or box truck to transport items such as medical records, equipment, and supplies for delivery or storage. High School diploma or equivalent required. Valid Driver’s License required. DOT Medical Certificate annually for anyone who drives the hospital Box Truck required. One to two years of supply chain experience in a healthcare setting required.  Direct experience with computerized inventory system required.  The position duties demand that the incumbent acquire comprehensive knowledge of the following:  hospital terminology associated with medical supplies and their general use; basic isolation principles, decontamination and processing techniques.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Microsoft Office, i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook experience preferred.
  • Capable of long periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be able to lift 70 lbs of supplies and equipment at one time; and pull a loaded pallet jack; lift items off of top shelves; stock items on top shelf.
  • Must be able to maneuver heavy loaded carts safely through corridors; use hammers and crowbars to open crates.  Must learn how to operate and drive a power hand jack.
