Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

The Patient Accounting Lead is responsible for providing assistance to internal and external customers in support of revenue cycle financial systems. This position is also responsible for ensuring that multi-facility revenue is accurate and meets the compliance standards of regulatory payors. This position also ensures the efficient operation of all revenue cycle functions, to include cash posting, billing, and accounts receivable.

 

Responsibilities

  • Resolves escalated problems through coordinated efforts with team members, clinical departments and revenue cycle leadership; analyzes data and manages reporting functions; addresses internal and external questions regarding revenue, cash reconciliation and claims corrections.
  • Utilizes thorough understanding of the revenue cycle to provide enhanced business process flows and to develop solutions.
  • Provides expertise in the area of patient accounts related to third party billing, customer service responses, charge entry, payment processing and reconciliation.
  • Facilitates payor meetings; escalates payor issues among various revenue management departments to be used towards remediation efforts.
  • Provides training to various functions and departments; performs accounts receivable projects and conducts audit activities for the revenue cycle.
