About the Role:

Pet Vet Animal Clinic & Mobile Practice, Ltd is looking for a compassionate and motivated Veterinary Assistant to join their dedicated team in Huntley, IL. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside experienced veterinary professionals in both a clinic and mobile practice setting, making a real difference in the lives of pets and their owners every day.

Responsibilities:

Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, procedures, and treatments
Restrain and handle animals safely and compassionately during appointments
Prepare exam rooms and ensure a clean, sanitized, and organized clinical environment
Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
Support mobile practice operations, including preparing equipment and supplies for off-site visits
Collect and process laboratory samples, including blood draws and urinalysis
Communicate with pet owners regarding post-visit care instructions and follow-up appointments
Maintain accurate patient records and assist with front desk duties as needed

Requirements:

Prior experience in a veterinary clinic, animal shelter, or related animal care setting preferred
Genuine love for animals and a calm, confident approach to animal handling
Ability to safely restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments
Strong communication skills and a client-friendly, professional demeanor
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to both clinic and mobile practice settings
Basic knowledge of veterinary terminology, medications, and procedures is a plus
Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
