About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, organized, and passionate Assistant Director to join our leadership team at The Learning Experience. In this role, you will partner with the Center Director to support the daily operations of the center while helping create a positive, engaging, and nurturing environment where children, families, and staff thrive.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who enjoys coaching teachers, building relationships with families, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining compliance with licensing standards. This is a hands-on leadership role that includes administrative responsibilities as well as providing classroom support when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

  •  Partner with the Center Director to oversee daily center operations. 
  •  Support the recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of teaching staff. 
  •  Assist with staff scheduling to ensure appropriate classroom coverage and licensing ratios. 
  •  Help maintain compliance with all state licensing, health, and safety regulations. 
  •  Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment. 
  •  Support center goals related to enrollment, retention, and family engagement. 
Family & Staff Support

  •  Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members. 
  •  Welcome prospective families and assist with center tours and enrollment. 
  •  Address parent questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner. 
  •  Coach and mentor teachers to support classroom success and professional growth. 
  •  Recognize and celebrate staff achievements while promoting a positive center culture. 
Administrative & Classroom Support

  •  Assist with administrative tasks, including maintaining child and staff records, reporting, and center documentation. 
  •  Support payroll, scheduling, and other operational duties as assigned. 
  •  Step into classrooms when needed to provide support and maintain required ratios. 
  •  Ensure classrooms are well-equipped, organized, and aligned with The Learning Experience standards. 
  •  Collaborate with the leadership team to continuously improve center operations and the overall family experience. 
Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  •  Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred. 
  •  Previous experience in a childcare, preschool, or early childhood education setting required
  •  Previous leadership, supervisory, or management experience preferred. 
  •  Strong knowledge of early childhood education, child development, and licensing requirements. 
  •  Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 
  •  Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude. 
Preferred Skills

  •  Experience coaching and developing teaching staff. 
  •  Strong customer service and family engagement skills. 
  •  Experience with enrollment, scheduling, and center operations. 
  •  Ability to lead by example and foster a collaborative team environment. 
  •  CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
