Position SummaryÂ
The Avionics Manager is responsible for performing advanced aircraft avionics installations,  inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and system integration for general aviation aircraft. This is  a hands-on technical position requiring extensive avionics knowledge and experience with  aircraft electrical systems, Garmin avionics products, and FAA regulations.Â
Working closely with the Senior Director of Maintenance, the Avionics Manager is responsible  for ensuring avionics work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with FAA  regulations, approved technical data, and company quality standards.Â
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesÂ
Technical ResponsibilitiesÂ
• Perform advanced avionics installations, upgrades, repairs, and modifications. • Troubleshoot and repair aircraft electrical and avionics systems.Â
• Configure, calibrate, and test Garmin avionics systems, including GTN, GNS, G3X, GI  275, G500/G600, G1000, and related products.Â
• Fabricate, install, terminate, and test aircraft wiring harnesses in accordance with aviation  standards.Â
• Perform and document FAR 91.411 Altimeter/Pitot-Static System inspections and FAR  91.413 Transponder inspections under Repair Station authorization.Â
• Read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings,  and FAA-approved technical data.Â
• Complete aircraft maintenance records, work orders, and logbook entries accurately and  in accordance with FAA regulations.
• Ensure all work complies with FAA regulations, manufacturer's instructions,  Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs), and Repair Station procedures. • Maintain shop equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean and safe condition. • Assist in diagnosing complex aircraft electrical and avionics discrepancies.Â
Customer SupportÂ
• Meet with aircraft owners to discuss avionics upgrades and installation options. • Assist in developing installation estimates and project recommendations. • Provide technical expertise throughout the installation process.Â
• Maintain a professional relationship with customers and vendors.Â
Required QualificationsÂ
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate or eligibility for a Repairman  Certificate under the company's FAA Repair Station.Â
• Qualified to perform FAR 91.411 and FAR 91.413 inspections under Repair Station  authorization.Â
• Extensive experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing avionics systems on  general aviation aircraft.Â
• Strong knowledge of Garmin avionics products and integrated flight systems. • Experience fabricating aircraft wiring harnesses.Â
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals, and FAA technical  publications.Â
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.Â
• Strong organizational and communication skills.Â
• Commitment to quality workmanship, regulatory compliance, and aviation safety.Â
Preferred QualificationsÂ
• Experience working in an FAA Part 145 Repair Station.Â
• Garmin factory training or dealer certification.Â
• Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred but not required.Â
Physical RequirementsÂ
• Lift up to 50 pounds.Â
• Stand, kneel, crawl, climb ladders, and work in confined aircraft spaces. • Work from maintenance stands and aircraft platforms.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and precision electronic test equipment.Â
Working ConditionsÂ
• Aircraft maintenance hangar environment.Â
• Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, aircraft noise, fuels, oils, solvents, and cleaning  chemicals.Â
• Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required based on operational needs.Â
