Job Overview:

APTIM currently has a career growth opportunity for an entry level Engineer or Scientist to join our project team in support of ongoing inspection and characterization activities at Redstone Arsenal located in Huntsville, AL. This opportunity will primarily focus on oversight and documentation of field activities, including the collection of environmental samples and associated technical reporting. Additionally, this opportunity will include working with APTIM bioremediation specialist to design and implement bioremediation treatment systems at Redstone and other sites across the country. Strong interpersonal skills are required, including the ability to communicate clearly and confidently, both written and verbally, to all project team members including client representatives, regulators, and APTIM colleagues alike. Occasional travel to other project locations to support field activities will be required.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Collection, documentation, and interpretation of field environmental data for management review and incorporation into project documents.
  • Through mentoring (provided by APTIM) develop skills and expertise to assist with design of bioremediation treatment systems.
  • Utilization of various field sampling and monitoring equipment, including knowledge of equipment calibration and maintenance.
  • Monitor effectiveness of bioremediation treatment systems through field monitoring.
  • Analyze and prepare raw data into workable form for engineering/scientific project reports and other project documents.
  • Conformance to applicable regulatory codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Adherence to established schedule and budgets for the performance of field and office work activities.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment, provide input on technical, project, and safety issues.
  • Possess a "Safety First" work ethic.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Scientific Discipline
  • Possess 0-2 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Valid Driver's License with Clean Driving Record required.
  • Possess or have ability to readily obtain 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
  • Ability to wear proper PPE for work on hazardous waste sites; lifting and physical work will be required.
  • Core competency in Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to work in the field in all types of field conditions/weather.
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime, including weekends, to meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to travel for field assignments.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 Per Year. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
