Job Summary:Â Â
This position supports Pryor Field Regional Airport in Tanner, Alabama. The Airport Firefighter/EMT provides aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF), structural fire suppression, emergency medical response, rescue operations, hazardous materials response, and fire prevention services in a 24/7 airport environment. Duties include aircraft and structural firefighting, emergency medical response, airport standby operations, inspections of life safety systems, fire prevention activities, training, and emergency preparedness. A significant portion of the position involves apparatus and equipment readiness, emergency response training, inspections, and support of airport operations.

Examples of What You Will Do:
- Respond to all actual, potential, or simulated aircraft emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, structural fires, rescue incidents, and EMS calls occurring on airport property.
- Act as a first responder to medical emergencies involving airport employees, tenants, visitors, and the traveling public; provide emergency medical care at the EMT-Basic level or higher in accordance with approved medical protocols.
- Ensure station apparatus, equipment, and reserve equipment remain in a constant state of readiness.
- Conduct required daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual inspections of emergency vehicles and equipment.
- Perform inspections of airport facilities, hangars, fueling facilities, fuel trucks, and other airport infrastructure to identify and mitigate fire and life-safety hazards.
- Support implementation of the Airport Emergency Plan (AEP) and Emergency Operations procedures.
- Participate in emergency standby assignments for aircraft operations, special events, and other airport activities as required.
- Attend required training and conduct fire safety and emergency preparedness training for airport personnel, tenants, and stakeholders as assigned.
- Respond to all emergency and non-emergency incidents on airport property and participate in mutual aid responses when authorized.
- Operate emergency vehicles and ARFF apparatus safely and effectively.
- Perform and document inspections of life safety equipment including fire extinguishers, hydrants, fire department connections, fire doors, fire protection system components, and AEDs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Minimum Requirements
- Must be certified as an Alabama Firefighter II (NFPA 1001) or possess the ability to obtain Alabama reciprocity.
- Must be certified to Hazardous Materials Operations in accordance with applicable Alabama Fire College and state requirements or possess the ability to obtain reciprocity.
- Must be certified as an Airport Firefighter (NFPA 1003) by the State of Alabama or possess the ability to obtain reciprocity. Annual ARFF live-fire training must be maintained as required. ARFF vehicle operations experience is preferred.
- Must be certified as an Alabama EMT-Basic or higher at the time of hire and maintain certification throughout employment.
- Must possess NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 certifications.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record in accordance with company policy.
- Must successfully complete all pre-employment screening requirements, including background investigation and drug screening
