Summary:


The Indoor Air Quality Technician is responsible for monitoring and improving the quality of air in various settings. Test air and water quality, operate, and maintain all sampling and laboratory equipment, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Also retrieve air samples from various sites, validate data, and analyze equipment for O2, CO2, NO2, NOx, and visible discharge. The Air Quality Technician may also be involved in tasks such as service calls, equipment maintenance, and service calls. The Air Quality Technician is responsible for cleaning air ducts for heating and cooling systems including cleaning the system, providing basic maintenance, and performing inspections to improve indoor air quality. 


This position is often the first step for a career as a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technician. There are no formal qualifications to become a duct cleaner technician.  You should have customer service experience, adequate physical fitness, and comfort working within cramped or confined spaces. You will work inside a home or business while others are present.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Meets with customer in their home and assess the customer’s needs

  • Follows standard process for inspecting ductwork, air quality, ventilation, and equipment before providing proposal / solution

  • Provides customer with indoor air quality solutions proposal and finalizes the sale  

  • Completes sold services using protective measures to keep customer’s home clean and undamaged

  • Performs other duties as requested


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, ideas related to policies and procedures and provide guidance to management and employees

  • Ability to follow safety standards

  • Ability to manage time effectively and efficiently

  • Regular and reliable attendance


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Possess a valid driver’s license

  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship


Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Any air conditioning certifications


Physical Demands:

  • Ability to operate computer, phone and other office equipment as needed

  • Ability to read, write, speak, hear, see, think, communicate, concentrate, learn, and work

  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50lbs repeatedly during work hours

  • Ability to climb up and down ladders and/or step stools repeatedly during work hours

  • Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time during work hours

  • Ability to work in small and confined dark spaces such as crawl spaces, attics, etc.

  • Ability to work in a wide range of temperatures (indoor/outdoor)

  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time between job sites and customer locations

  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
