Modeling and Simulation Software Engineer

OASYS, INC., a Leading-Edge Government contractor in Huntsville Alabama, is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Software Engineer to support our Air Force customer.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Participate in the development, implementation, and refinement of 3-DoF and 6-DoF physics-based simulation models
  • Participate in the modeling of vehicle trajectories, debris dispersion patterns, and dynamic system behavior
  • Validate physics models against analytical results, test data, and performance requirements
  • Perform end-to-end software lifecycle activities including requirements analysis, architecture, design, coding, integration, and test
  • Produce technical documentation for models, algorithms, and software products
  • Participate in model reviews, design reviews, and technical interchange meetings
  • Support fielded simulation tools and assist with troubleshooting, updates, and enhancements

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3-5 years with modeling and simulation software or physics based software experience
  • Proficiency in C++, Python, Java or other object-oriented programming languages
  • Practical experience with 3-DoF and 6-DoF modeling techniques
  • Demonstrated experience modeling vehicle trajectories and debris patterns
  • Knowledge of physics models
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices, specifically Scrum
  • Experience working on cross-discipline engineering teams

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, or other version control systems
  • Background using simulation tools/frameworks (MATLAB, Simulink, STK, physics engines)
  • Linux development experience (Red Hat, Ubuntu, etc.)
  • Experience with visualization tools or simulation analysis pipelines
  • Experience with real-time, hardware-in-the-loop, or mission-level simulation environments
  • Certified ScrumMaster (optional)

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or another STEM discipline. Equivalent experience may be substituted for a degree.

Eligibility:

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance; an active Secret Clearance is highly desirable.
