Production Manager

Overview

We’re looking for a proactive and results-driven Production Manager to lead daily operations, ensure on-time delivery, and drive continuous improvement across our manufacturing processes. This role is central to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency while fostering a strong, motivated team on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, monitor, and adjust daily and weekly production schedules based on customer demand
  • Ensure finished goods and work-in-progress inventory levels meet established targets
  • Drive 100% on-time delivery performance to customers
  • Oversee accurate and timely production reporting, including output, scrap, and downtime analysis with root cause identification
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and system integrity
  • Partner with Process Engineers to implement and sustain pull/Kanban systems across all work cells
  • Leverage production systems and tools to improve scheduling efficiency and data accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures, IATF 16949 standards, and all health & safety regulations
  • Lead and coordinate all assigned resources to meet production goals and schedules
  • Proactively identify and resolve schedule deviations; escalate when necessary
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure all products meet approved “first-off” standards and optimize process capability
  • Provide strong leadership on the shop floor to promote productivity, engagement, safety, and high housekeeping standards
  • Monitor and improve production efficiency and scrap reduction; stop production when quality issues arise
  • Work closely with Human Resources on hiring, training, and performance management of team members
  • Enforce best practices in Quality Assurance, Inventory Control, and Production Control
  • Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate corrective maintenance for equipment and tooling
  • Analyze production performance and prepare reports on efficiency and productivity
  • Participate in problem-solving initiatives related to quality and process improvements
  • Recommend and support facility layout improvements
  • Contribute to budgeting and operational planning (AOP)
  • Track team performance against KPIs and drive continuous improvement in productivity, material usage, and customer satisfaction
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications

  • One of the following:
    • 2+ years of experience as a Production Scheduler
    • 2+ years of experience in Production Supervision
    • Engineering degree
  • 5+ years of experience in injection molding, plastic parts painting, and/or assembly processes

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Hands-on experience with injection molding operations
  • Solid understanding of production processes, quality systems, and continuous improvement methods
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production-related systems
  • Knowledge of inventory control, part numbering, and manufacturing procedures
  • Familiarity with Quality and Environmental Management Systems relevant to the role
  • Familiarity with forms, labels and tags governing job function
