Job Title: PMO Lead

Summary:
The PMO Lead for Hanwha Defense USA’s Ground Vehicles Division is responsible for establishing, developing, and leading a full Program Management Office to support the organization’s U.S. ground vehicle programs. This senior leader will build PMO processes from the ground up, lead a team of project management professionals, and drive consistent standards across scheduling, risk management, program delivery, and cross-functional coordination. The role ensures alignment with defense-sector expectations, customer requirements, and the unique demands of a rapidly growing division within an international defense manufacturer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and establish a full PMO framework, including processes, governance, tools, and reporting structures tailored to ground vehicle development and production.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a team of project controllers, schedulers, and PMO analysts supporting multiple programs.
  • Own Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development, maintenance, and quality assurance across all ground vehicle programs.
  • Drive robust risk and opportunity management, enabling proactive mitigation planning and stakeholder visibility.
  • Oversee program delivery tracking, milestone management, and readiness activities to ensure on-time and compliant execution.
  • Develop and implement governance cadences — program reviews, gate reviews, escalation paths, and cross-program coordination rhythms.
  • Serve as a primary interface with external customers, including DoD representatives, prime contractors, and partner organizations, ensuring transparent communication and timely response to program inquiries.
  • Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, contracts, finance, and quality to ensure coherent execution across all functions.
  • Support proposal development, including schedule strategy, risk inputs, and PMO-related bid documentation.
  • Establish clear PMO metrics, dashboards, and delivery performance reporting for internal leadership and customer audiences.
  • Work closely with the finance team to align cost, schedule, and risk data; prior Earned Value Management (EVM) experience is beneficial though not a primary responsibility.
  • Champion continuous improvement and scalable processes as the Ground Vehicles Division grows.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Program Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in defense-sector program management, PMO leadership, or complex system development.
