SALARY RANGE: The anticipated salary range for this role is $70,000 to $95,000 annually. SUMMARYĀ Ā 

The Procurement Specialist II with moderate supervision is responsible for the day-to-day purchasing activity of the company, following established company policy and procedures. The Procurement Specialist is responsible for working with supply chain management to communicate shortages, delays, and component obsolescence. The Procurement Specialist utilizes cost comparison tools, communicates and negotiates with vendors, and improves the overall purchasing process.Ā

RESPONSIBILITIESĀ 

The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.Ā 

  • Own end-to-end procurement lifecycle for assigned categories including materials, components, equipment, and servicesĀ 
  • Purchase materials and supplies to support company objectives and ensure compliance with company policy, contractual flow downs and local laws.Ā 
  • Prioritize purchasing activities based on schedule and lead timeĀ 
  • Review engineering/costed BOMs to ensure the purchasing information is up to dateĀ 
  • Manage suppliers and ensure schedule is on trackĀ 
  • Supports make vs buy decision via cost analysisĀ 
  • Coordinate non-conformance with Quality and ask vendors for their root cause analysis.Ā 
  • Support outsourcing, supplier qualification and supplier selectionĀ 
  • Negotiate price, payment terms, lead time and long-term agreements.Ā 
  • Works with engineering and production for purchasing/productionizing prototype BOMsĀ 
  • Communicate with management as shorts, delays, or component obsolescence surfaceĀ 
  • Coordinate with accounting to ensure compliance with billing and taxationĀ 
  • Assumes all other responsibilities as assignedĀ 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSĀ 

  • 8+ years' experience in procurement or supply chain, ideally within aerospace, aviation, defense, or similar environmentsĀ Ā 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, or Finance or equivalent experience.Ā 
  • ISO9001/AS9100 experience preferredĀ 
  • Understanding of procurement compliance in government contracting (e.g., FAR/DFARS, ITAR)Ā 
  • Knowledge of different commodities, materials and specs (mechanical, electrical, 3D-print, PCB’s, cable harnesses, connectors)Ā 
  • Experience in sourcing, supplier development, supplier assessment and cost reduction projectsĀ 
  • Experience managing supplier KPI’sĀ 
  • Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities operationĀ 
  • Proficient in MS Office and ERP systemsĀ 
  • Strong Excel proficiency requiredĀ 
  • Ability to take initiative and think proactivelyĀ 
  • Demonstrated problem solving skillsĀ 
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organizationĀ 
  • Negotiation skills and supplier management skills.Ā 
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skillsĀ 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teamsĀ

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ā Ā 

The work environment may involve a standard office setting while also incorporating elements of a production area. Employees will use standard office equipment, including computers, and must demonstrate stamina to sit or stand while maintaining attention to detail despite potential interruptions. The role may require occasional activities such as walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and bending. Vision is necessary for reading printed materials and a computer screen, while hearing and speech are essential for effective communication both in person and over the telephone. Additionally, the position may necessitate travel by air or automobile. Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coats, to ensure safety in the production environment. Employees may be able to lift up to 30 pounds as needed. Ā
