Senior Engineer - TRATON R&D US, LLC

Position Overview

International Motors LLC is looking for an Senior Engineer in the Loads and Complete Vehicle Durability Team

This is an exciting role to get exposure to all subsystems of the vehicle.  This role will support testing within the Loads & Complete Vehicle Durability team for Powertrain Dynamics testing, Road Load Data Acquisition measurements, and Full Vehicle Durability tests. Engineer will collaborate closely with Design and Analysis teams to ensure testing aligns with overall validation plans and product requirements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, experience with data acquisition systems, data analysis, and understanding of sensors & measurements.

The position is based on site at our International Proving Grounds Location in New Carlisle, IN. Travel is minimal but possible to support off-site testing/measurements, estimated to be less than 10% travel.

Responsibilities

• Support creation and implementation of design verification plans.
• Work closely with design & simulation teams to prepare for tests: review analysis, create instrumentation maps, review test part and vehicle configurations.
• Prepare work packages for technicians to instrument the vehicles.
• Perform detailed inspections of durability test vehicles.
• Setup & configure data acquisition systems and measurement sensors (Accelerometers, Strain Gages)
• Perform data verification - Review test data collected for integrity.
• Complete stress & strain based life predictions, loads analysis, and creation of test profiles.
• Create data summaries & conclusions to report out to key stakeholders

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and at least 1 year of product design/development and/or computer science experience

OR

• Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
