Job DetailsJob Location: Huntsville, AL 35811Objective: The Senior Payroll Administrator’s primary responsibility is to manage all aspects of the company’s payroll process to ensure accurate and timely payments to employees.  Accountabilities: Prepare, process, calculate and audit company payroll according to procedures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payroll checks Understand and adhere to federal and state employment wage and hour laws and current human resources practices Enter new garnishments, child support orders, benefit deductions and other employee changes into the payroll system Update benefit records and vendors with new enrollments, changes, or cancellations Compute & audit employee commissions, hours and salaries for accuracy & approvals prior to payroll submission Validate payroll file for accuracy so that employees and other key stakeholders have an error-free payroll experience Analyze pre- and post-payroll audit reports to identify and correct payroll errors Responsible for the delivery & distribution of pay checks, direct deposits and pay statements Research and resolve questions from employees/managers, relative to the processing of payroll information, such as vacation/sick time, direct deposit, retroactive pay calculations, tax questions, pay errors Prepare standard and ad hoc payroll reports and statements as necessary Participate in payroll year end tasks Ensure record-keeping compliance including filing/archiving/storage of payroll records Develop and deliver payroll related training for all users QualificationsQualifications: Four-year college degree, with an emphasis in Business Administration or Accounting is preferred HR Generalist experience Three to five years of direct payroll experience Ability to perform basic math functions and employ accurate use of detail with minimal errors Oversee recovery of overpayments Preferred Experience: Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel Working knowledge of Paycom or similar payroll software CPP certification
