SAIC is seeking a UI/UX Designer to join our team in Huntsville, AL.

As a UI/UX Designer, you will be a member of a team providing software development and support to the AvMC Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration (S3I) Directorate. You will assist team members in delivering wireframes, prototypes, MVPs, and final products. You will have the opportunity to be the voice of the customer and end user, and you will translate their needs into user-friendly designs that will directly impact their overall experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute towards and assist with the implementation of a cross-platform design system
  • Work with UX Designer and team to translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences
  • Produce high-quality visual designs (including basic assets and wireframes/mockups)–from concept to execution, including those for desktop, web, and mobile devices at a variety of resolutions
  • Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly iterate designs
  • Assist with the coordination, facilitation, and analysis of user research using qualitative and quantitative methods, such as interviews, personas, usability testing initiatives
  • Write documentation for hand-offs to the development team
  • Analyze user feedback and activity to continually enhance the user experience
  • Identify design problems and devise effective solutions
  • Assist with strategic design and user-experience decisions related to current and new functions/features based on data and user feedback
  • Work with the agile product owner to refine user stories
  • Work with development team to bring your concepts to life as end-to-end experiences that are fully functioning, accessible and responsive


Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and two (2) or more years' experience; Additional six (6) years' experience can be considered in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle)

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with Axure Pro 10
  • 2+ years of UX design experience
  • Degree or certification in User Experience, Interaction Design or equivalent experience
  • Experienced design thinking and user-centered design
  • Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, etc) with an emphasis in XD
  • Understands and is experienced in the execution of user interviews
  • Great time management, process management and communication skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate ideas and solutions
  • Accounts for challenges using problem-solving skills and seeking to optimize data for the best possible outcome
  • A team player with the ability to work on several projects at a time
  • Passionate about resolving user pain points through great design

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability and experience in affective communication, presentation, and collaboration
  • Knowledge of the agile software development process
