Position will provide support to the MDA’s Test Directorate, Consolidated Flight Test Organization in support of the test planning and execution of the Space Based Interceptor program.
- Candidate will assist in development of pre-mission flight test design/scenarios and support flight test execution by:
- Performing pre-mission target and interceptor trajectory generation and optimization
- Performing pre-mission quantitative safety and risk analyses to ensure tests can be conducted safely in accordance with Range Commanders Council safety standards
- Supporting Range Safety Working Group meeting and activities to include tracking action items, data delivery schedules, and analysis schedules
- Assist with pre-mission telemetry link and radar assessments to ensure flight test architecture meets data collection requirements
- Assist senior team members in conducting COLA (collision avoidance) assessments for day of flight execution
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) organization and Missile Defense System (MDS) designs, performance and testing
- Experience with MATLAB, Python, Java, and/or other programming languages
- Basic understanding of Orbital Mechanics and Physics
Highly Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of RF Engineering and Communication design and processing
- Knowledge of Range Commander’s Council Standards
- Education: BA/BS in a field pertinent to the position being filled. 5 years relevant experience may be substituted for the BA/BS degree requirement
- Experience: No direct experience required
- Clearance: Minimum Secret clearance required
